Marakids Delivers innovative, quality content that inspires young viewers to explore the world beyond the screen. 

 

Marakids launched in spring of 2017 as an offshoot of Maramedia, Scotland’s most successful natural history production company.

Our aim is to be the home of high-end children’s TV in Scotland and develop the best possible content for kids around the globe. 

The company’s production team is headed by Maramedia’s founder Nigel Pope – original executive producer of Raven, creator of Big Cat Diaries; Maramedia Co – Founder Jackie Savery with a background in natural history production and childrens and Simon Parsons former head of BBC Children’s Scotland – executive producer of Live and Kicking, Copy Cats and brand manager for Balamory.

PRESS RELEASE: ANIMATION SERIES HUSHABYE LULLABYE FOR PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN UNDER ITS MARAKIDS BRAND

Maramedia, the Glasgow-based Indie specialising in top-end natural history documentaries announces an exciting new addition to their MARAKIDS brand - HUSHABYE LULLABYE is a super soft quirky animation series for pre-school children for CBeebies.

HUSHABYE LULLABYE has been created to incorporate the powerful benefits of lullabies in a way that is both loving and playful for young children.  This delightful series of short animations is a Scottish collaboration that has been created, written and directed by Glasgow-based Sacha Kyle, an established television and theatre director; together with animators Once Were Farmers of Stirling and Maramedia delivering the series with executive producer Simon Parsons.  Composer is Giles Lamb and 3D animation is by Will Adams.   Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Julia Bond and the series is for delivery very soon!

MARAMEDIA LAUNCHES CHILDREN’S BRAND “MARAKIDS” WITH UNIQUE PRE-SCHOOL VIKING SERIES

Maramedia, the Glasgow-based Indie specializing in top-end Natural History documentaries has announced its move into children’s programming with an exciting new commission for its Marakids brand.

GUDRUN THE VIKING PRINCESS

is a unique new format combining drama and factual entertainment for young children.  The series of 20 x 5mins episodes for CBeebies mixes wildlife and landscapes, Viking history and a rich family of characters. Beautifully filmed in stunning Scottish surroundings, this enchanting series has been commissioned by Kay Benbow for CBeebies. The series will also be versioned in Gaelic for BBC Alba and transmission to be announced for 2018.

Drawing on Maramedia’s formidable experience of creating blue-chip Natural History, this new pre-school series will provide inspirational starting points for ways to connect young children with the wild environment as well as introducing the historical Viking period in a simple, charming and totally captivating way.

Maramedia, co-founded by Nigel Pope and Jackie Savery, has had a string of successes including Highlands – Scotland’s Wild Heart narrated by Ewan McGregor (BBC) and the recent David Attenborough vehicle – Hotel Armadillo for BBC Natural World and PBS. The company is now adding former head of BBC Scotland children’s production – Simon Parsons – to its line-up to take the company forward with exciting new innovative children’s programming for its Marakids brand.
